Product
Description
Back
to top
Speedy 3.0 is
a service which enables the creation
of customizable directories,
extending the functionality of
the Cisco IP Communications.
SPEEDY allows the users to add,
delete and modify public and
personal directories through
a web interface. Contacts may
also be managed directly through
the IP phones.
Architecture
Back
to top
The MAC address is the unique
field used to associate a phone
to a Stonevoice Application Suite
user. When any IP Phone queries
for address books, it sends its
MAC address on the same query.
Speedy 3.0 works as a web service
that is able to catch the phone
requests. It identifies the SAS
user and checks if he or she
is permitted to read the directories.
In this case it replies showing:
- All available public directories
- All private directories
configured by the user associated
with the phone MAC address
Speedy 3.0 is
also capable of managing department
directories; i.e. the administrator
may configure directories to
be available only to a group
of users.
Features:
-
Three types of directories to
suit different needs
Back
to top
With Speedy 3.0 you can create
public, personal and department
directories:
- Public directories can
be accessed from every phone
- Personal directories can
only be accessed by their
owner
- Department directories
are available to a group
of users
There is no limit to the number
of public, personal and department
directories. This makes Speedy
3.0 suitable even for large companies
with many branch offices. Administrators
are able to add, change, and
delete public directories shared
across all the IP phones. Department
Administrators are able to add,
change, and delete the directories
assigned to their department
-
Edit contacts from the
IP Phone
Back
to top
Directories can be marked to
be user-customizable. This means
that the users may add, delete
and edit the contacts directly
from their IP Phone. Of course
Personal Directories can be modified
only by their owner, and Department
Directories can be accessed only
by the members of the department
the directory is assigned to.
Import
contacts from your favorite
address book
Back
to top
The creation of new directory
and contacts can be done in many
ways:
- By manual insertion of
the Directory names and Contacts
information
- Adding contacts directly
from the IP Phone
- Importing contact from
a CSV (comma separated values)
file that contains directory
and contact information
- Importing contact from
a Microsoft Outlook generated
file
For example, you
can export your contact from
Lotus Notes as a CSV file import
them your favorite address book
in Speedy.

It is also possible
to export the directories into
a CSV file or to Microsoft Excel
2003 XML file.

The insertion
of a new directory can be done
directly from the Public Directory
page using the text box 'Directory
name' and specifying if the directory
is User customizable or not.

Once a new directory
has been created, the authorized
user can add contacts simply
selecting the Contacts icon and
using the same procedure for
the contact insertion

Advanced
Search
Back
to top
Contacts can be searched by powerful
filters:

Click
To Dial
Back
to top
SPEEDY 3.0 supports the Click-To-Dial
feature, that is available for
all the directories and allows
the user to click a button next
to the contact telephone number
and directly generate the call
from his / her IP Phone as illustrated
in the image below.

Extension
Mobility
Back
to top
SPEEDY 3.0 supports the Extension
Mobility feature of Cisco Systems™ CallManager
so that users can log to different
phones and use their public and
personal contacts from there.
